Second Place For Kay De Wolf At EMX250 In Mantova

Kay de Wolf of Rockstar Husqvarna Factory Racing scored a second place finish during the sixth round of the EMX250 series in Mantova, Italy. This result came in the second heat. De Wolf had great speed on display in the first race, but was forced to fight his way to 12th after a crash.

The rider from Eersel found his feet quickly on the track, qualifying second, ensuring himself of a good start gate. His first start was not optimal, though, dropping him to a mid-pack position. He immediately set about working his way forward. He crashed at half distance, losing a lot of ground. After regathering himself, he fought his way forward again, finishing 12th.

A start far more to his liking got De Wolf into fourth place early in race two. He soon gained a spot, and in the second half of the race set poised to move into second. He did so with a bold maneuver, and held second spot till the flag fell.

Kay was fifth overall for the day, and is in joint second in the championship standings. He will look to secure that position during the next round of the series at the same track on Tuesday.
