Kay De Wolf Rises To Fourth in EMX250 Championship Series

Kay de Wolf of Rockstar Energy Factory Husqvarna Racing has yet again gained one position in the EMX250 European championship motocross standings after the third round of the series at Kegums in Latvia.  De Wolf was 14th in the frist race after a hard crash. He finished fourth in the second race following a tough battle. He is now fourth in the championship standings.

The track at Kegums, which is hosting three championship events in  a row, was not changed much from Saturday’s races. Kay was soon into the flow of things and qualified in third position.  He launched well into his first race, circulating in fifth position.  He dropped a position, but then reclaimed two to hold steady in fourth.  A hard crash at mid-race distance cost him a lot of time, as he battled to restart his bike. He recovered from 20th to 14th.

The second race yielded much excitement.  De Wolf came back from tenth, and in the second half of the race, he had done enough to aspire to a third place finish.  He got stuck behind Gianluca Facchetti, and lost a few positions, but fought back to finish fourth.

Kay was seventh overall for the day, but more significantly, had collected enough points to climb to fourth in the championship standings.  The series will continue next Saturday at the same track.
