Kay de Wolf confirmed for Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing’s 2026 MXGP campaign

The Dutch star will graduate to the premier MXGP class in 2026 with Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing, marking the next milestone in an already remarkable career.
Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing is excited to announce that Kay de Wolf, the 2024 MX2 World Champion and double MXoN MX2 winner, will remain with the team as he steps up to the MXGP World Championship in 2026. The Dutchman will make the move to the premier class aboard Husqvarna’s flagship FC 450, continuing a long and successful partnership that has defined much of his Grand Prix career so far.

Since joining the Husqvarna family in 2019, de Wolf’s rise through the motocross ranks has been nothing short of spectacular. From his early days in EMX125 to dominating sand tracks across Europe, he has consistently demonstrated a combination of precision, aggression, and technical mastery that has made him one of the sport’s most exciting talents.

After a breakthrough MX2 season in 2023, where he claimed his first Grand Prix victory in Latvia and multiple podiums en route to sixth overall, de Wolf went on to deliver a stunning 2024 campaign, securing seven GP wins, 12 podiums, and ultimately the MX2 World Championship title at just 20 years old. He followed that success with another remarkable run in 2025, taking seven Grand Prix victories and finishing runner-up in the standings after an edge-of-the-seat season battle for the crown.

De Wolf’s success extends beyond the world championship stage. He is a multiple Dutch Masters of Motocross champion, and a two-time Motocross of Nations representative for Team Netherlands – helping secure a third-place team finish and an individual class victory in MX2 at the 2024 edition of the prestigious event. De Wolf backed it up by winning the MX2 class at the Motocross of Nations for the second consecutive year, earning an MXoN Gold Plate in 2025.

Now, as he prepares to make his long-awaited MXGP debut, the 21-year-old will carry the same determination that has defined his rise through the ranks so far….

Kay de Wolf – Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing: “This is a really special moment for me. To move up to MXGP with Husqvarna – the team that’s been my home since I turned pro – feels like a natural next step. We’ve shared so many incredible moments together in MX2: race wins, podiums, a world title, and so many lessons along the way. The FC 450 is an amazing machine, and I already feel at home on it. Of course, MXGP is a huge challenge, but I’m ready for it. I want to learn from the best, keep improving, and show what we can do in the premier class.”

Rasmus Jorgensen – Nestaan Husqvarna Factory Racing Team Manager: “Watching Kay’s progression over the years has been something truly special. From his first days in EMX, we knew he had a rare combination of speed and determination – and that’s exactly what carried him to an MX2 world title and countless incredible rides. Moving to MXGP is the next big step, but we have no doubt he’ll adapt quickly. His work ethic, his mindset, and his connection with the team are all exceptional. 2026 will be about learning and finding his rhythm on the 450, but knowing Kay, he’ll be fighting at the front before long.”
