Kay de Wolf of Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing managed to contain the damage during a troubled outing at the EMX250 round at Mantova. On a birthday that could have gone better, De Wolf crashed in both races but kept fighting to finish ninth and tenth respectively.
The track was somewhat modified from the layout on Saturday. The freshly-turned 16 year old Kay was in his stride and posted the third fastest qualifying time.
Kay got caught up in a melee during the first lap and had to come back from the rear ranks. He fought hard to finish ninth.
The early part of the second race went much better and Kay quickly found himself in eighth spot. A crash undid most of his hard work. He regrouped and fought his way back up to tenth again.
Kay was ninth overall for the day, and is third in the championship standings. The series continues at the same track on Saturday.
